The Classic or British Telephone Faucet is a vintage style of faucet fashioned after days gone by to bring an air of elegance to the modern bathroom setting.  This faucet, TTC463D-2, is for clawfoot, freestanding or pedestal tubs that have holes on the rim of the tub, or what is commonly called "deck mount holes" or "faucet holes" on the rim of the tub. The faucet stem fits down into the holes on the "deck or rim" of the tub and is attached to the rim of the tub from the underside. The "stem" of the faucet will connect to the water supply lines that have been connected to the water lines coming up from the floor.  The TTC463D-2 includes 2-inch deckmounts that are also referred to as "risers".  The risers lift the faucet 2 inches higher on the rim of the tub.  The purpose of the riser is often only for an ascetic appeal of the faucet as it can be purchased with 2 inches or 6-inch risers.

The Classic Telephone is available in 3 finishes; highly polished chrome, brushed nickel, commonly referred to as satin nickel and oil rubbed bronze.  Oil rubbed bronze is very dark and while all plumbing finishes will vary, oil rubbed bronze or ORB is one that has many different color variations company to company.  ORB at The Tub Connection is a very exotic dark finish.  A benefit of purchasing the deckmount style of faucet for your tub is since it sits on the rim of the tub and the supply lines are directly beneath (within the rim of the tub) there is no additional space required for installation.  Most vintage style tubs will also require a drain and overflow assembly.  The drain & overflow installs easily and is placed within the rim of the tub, so again, no additional space required.  The Classic Telephone faucet can be purchased here at The Tub Connection along with the supply lines and the drain & overflow, all in the finish of your choice.  Click on the item number and "add to cart" to make your purchase.
