The Classic or British Telephone Faucet is a vintage design of faucet made to look old like days gone by in order to bring an air of charm to the modernistic bathroom setting. This faucet, TTC463D, is for clawfoot, freestanding or pedestal tubs that have holes on the rim of the tub, or what may be quite often called "deck mount holes" or "faucet drillings" on the rim of the tub. The faucet stem fits down into the holes on the "deck or rim" of the tub and is attached to the rim of the tub from the underside. The "stem" of the faucet connects to the tub water supply lines which have been attached to the in-home water lines coming up from the floor. The TTC463S includes 2 or 6-inch deckmounts that are also described by some as "risers". The deckmounts raise the faucet two or six inches higher on the rim of the tub. The function of the deckmount riser is usually only for ascetic appeal.
The Classic Telephone is available for purchase in the three most popular finishes; polished chrome, brushed nickel, and oil rubbed bronze. Oil rubbed bronze is extremely dark and while all plumbing finish-coats will vary, oil rubbed bronze or ORB is one that has many different color variations. ORB at The Tub Connection is an extremely exotic dark surface. An advantage of purchasing a deckmount faucet for your tub is because it sits on the rim of the tub and the supply lines are directly underneath (within the rim of the tub) there is no additional area needed for installation. The majority of classic freestanding tubs will need a drain and overflow assembly. The drain & overflow sets up quickly and is placed within the rim of the tub, so once again, no additional area required. The Classic Telephone faucet can be acquired here at The Tub Connection in addition to the supply lines and the drain & overflow, all fixtures may be found in the finish of your choice. Real quality!
We remodeled our bathroom and updated the faucet on the tub. This is the one we got and it is gorgeous. It is big and really stands out. We actually got the oiled bronzed one. Real quality!
